There is currently a small number of volunteers who generoulsy devote most of their time, on a weekly basis, to help with the running of the Sanctuary.

People are always needed to help with fund-raising ideas, feeding, grooming, cleaning, gardening, maintenance etc. We are currently in desperate need of volunteers, especially to help with the feeding of the dogs.

The only requirements a volunteer must possess is a sense of commitment and at least few hours per week. Volunteers need to be responsible and mature, and have a keen interest in maintaining the welfare of the Sanctuary dogs.

General Duties

• Preparation of meals
• Feeding
• Assisting with Medication
• Washing up food bowls
• Cleaning food preparation areas
• Help with general site maintenance
• Petting the dogs and giving them love and attention
• Grooming/washing & shampooing the dogs

Naturally you need to be a keen animal lover and not too worried about getting dirty or working fairly hard. In return you`ll earn the support of all our other volunteers and the unconditional love of the dogs!

We also need volunteers for our Charity Shop in Paola! This is a very important source of income for the sanctuary.Unfortunately, the number of volunteers there has also dwindled.If you can spare a morning or afternoon on a regular basis, please contact us.

Dog Walkers

As is well known, a dog`s favourite thing is to be taken for a walk as frequently as possible. This sort of exercise is not only highly enjoyable for the dogs, but extremely healthy for the walker as well. There are many people who come and visit us in order to take the dogs out for walks. With the large number that we have, it would be greatly beneficial for more people to assist with this.

So, if you have not any plans one day, then why not come to the Sanctuary and pick out a dog for some "walkies", but please do phone before you come to make sure that there will be someone at the sanctuary.
